Unlocking voices through Spelling to Communicate (S2C)

Spelling Voices: AAC and S2C support

I support nonspeaking and minimally speaking individuals with autism to communicate through augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). As a Spelling to Communicate (S2C) practitioner, I coach motor planning, regulation, and purposeful pointing to letters so clients can express their thoughts.

What is S2C?

S2C teaches the motor skills needed to spell words as a form of communication. Nonspeakers learn to purposefully point to letters through structured practice and coaching, with a focus on regulation, motor planning, and cognitive engagement.

About the Letterboard

According to the American Speech-Language-Hearing association, AAC is all methods of communication besides speaking. Their website specifies that spelling words by pointing to letters is a form of AAC.

Everyone deserves a voice

Communication is a human right. My mission is to presume competence and support regulation to help my clients express their thoughts and feelings.
